KI Innovations strengthens the business and hires Peter Löwenhielm, PhD in polymer engineering from KTH with long experience from, among others, Mölnlycke and RISE.
He will assist researchers and students at Karolinska Institutet to take their discoveries to the next level in order to benefit of society.
– Realizing an idea is a complex process and a tedious journey. I will help KI researchers to progress in the jungle and avoid as many pitfalls as possible, says Peter Löwenhielm.
Peter Löwenhielm most recently comes from the role as senior researcher at RISE, active in the medical technology section focusing on collaboration projects between academia, industry and healthcare. Peter also has experience from Mölnlycke where he worked with research and development. For example, he led the early development of a new wound dressing that is on the market today. Peter, who has a keen interest in concept development, will primarily work with our companies and projects that are in the early stages – START.
In the START program at KI Innovations, we help researchers validate the potential of their research- or knowledge-based idea.
KI Innovations has a long background in helping researchers at KI to take their research and translate it into tangible benefits. Interest in commercialization and utilization among KI’s researchers is growingt and in order to be able to continue to contribute with high-quality coaching, we needed to strengthen our team, says Lilian Wikström, CEO of KI Innovations
