Heartrunner Sweden AB

The company Heartrunner Sweden AB, former SMS Lifeguard Skandinavien AB, was founded by a group of researchers, who ten years ago launched the research project SMS Life Rescue Company in Stockholm County. The project is based on utilizing volunteers’ knowledge of cardiovascular and pulmonary resuscitation and linking these people to the concept Heartrunner Sweden AB. These lifeguards are alerted to the location of a sudden cardiac arrest using mobile phone technology and through GPS technology, to enable early start of cardiovascular and lung rescue that is of outmost importance when it comes to cardiac arrest. The company is responsible for the practical and day-to-day operation of the system, for marketing and dissemination of the system, in addition to the recruitment of lifeguards, both in Sweden and internationally.

Heartrunner Sweden AB is co-owned by the research group, the technology company Unified Messaging Systems A/S and business developer Karolinska Institutet Innovations AB.
